Our Story

I started beekeeping in 2016 while attending Roanoke College, where I developed a fascination with honey bees and the important role they play in our environment. After a break during the COVID-19 pandemic, I had the opportunity to return to beekeeping and have been growing ever since.

In 2022, I restarted with a single hive and have expanded to six thriving colonies today. At Whalen's Honey Pub, we focus on producing local, raw honey while continuing to explore new offerings such as flavored honey, creamed honey, beeswax candles, and other hive-based products.

Our goal is simple: provide high-quality local honey and handcrafted bee products while sharing our passion for beekeeping with the community.
